Taking Off
I see your plane taking off in the sky,
Wave my hand and say goodbye.
The silhouette against the sunset of New Jersey,
Past few months, now so blurry.
A voyage taken,
We just passed the bailsman.
Some day you may discover,
Love for you is my greatest gesture.
You missed an opportunity,
My heart now so crushed and bloody.
Never spoon again,
Not even on December ten.
The end has come after eight,
Unless magic can happen after you vacate.
Time ran out, time did fade,
Love like this should never be delayed.
Paralyzed love is not conscious,
Lovers have been left breathless.
You have left me vacant,
From my heart you are now absent.

I’m On Airport Time
Turned on the light,
You were hidden in the shadows
Underneath my sheets
Surprised me!
I rolled over
You weren’t there
If that’s the way it’s going to be
I left for the airport
Not a hint of your scent was on my collar
Its tearing me apart
Just tell me not to go
Just tell me you love me
I’m not good any more
My time is up
The chariot that I’ve arrived on is pulling me back
My train is departing
I’m late for the plane
And the plane is late for me.

Falling
Like the rocks I lick at night
I fall from the sky at unknown speeds
My arteries refuse to end the fight
Goddess of dream’s sand
I fall flat against this hard dirt
The heart of fallen angels are in command
Falling with my broken wing
Accept me for who I have become
Both of us are tired of aching
I have always loved you
Mí na Nollaig approaches
Let me help you with your muumuu
Choice is yours, to be fruit
With performing miracles and shining stars
Or reservations on Lexington’s route
Falling in a downward spiral
Awoken from my study of disbelief
Encephalitis gone, your love is viral
I am not going anywhere; I have no place to be
Two have taken to falling
I continue to purchase your white tea
Let it burn for a little while longer
This wick of desire must meet
Days pass as our love gets stronger
Slipping under the over pass
Falling between the cracks
Lying on last year’s meadow grass
I’m falling to the earth
Catch me in your arms
Make my long wait worth
Autumn leaves are falling now
Another year will pass
Time for your heart to avow
You fell in love with me
And I fell in love with you
It’s time to become our very own we

Running Without You
I’m running through these fields of golden wheat
Following the path of my fire so sweet
Past the cottonwoods and the music of meadowlarks
My heart speaks to me and tells me to follow the sparks
Insides ache with emptiness, we grieve
Together, our stories have only begun to weave
I’m running past the descent of the sun
There is only you, the destination of my run
Depart your harbor and hoist up the sail
I’ll run around this earth and send you air mail
Catch the winds that lead you to my heart
It’s impossible for our love to depart
I’m running beneath the sea
Searching for the perfect place for you and me
Our threads of passion have intertwined
No longer is our love hidden and blind
Let your dreams incubate with mine
Love like this is only once, so divine
I’m running towards you with my key
Unlock yourself before our December jubilee
My tumbled scar is healed, removed the suture
Repair my heart, so let us share our future
Our balcony on the Mediterranean will wait
Accompany me into love’s gate
I’m running without you today
I know once you are in, long you will stay
Giving up is not an option for the two
The life we live is not quite through
Bid farewell to that port
It is I who will be your aisle escort

Argue With The Donkey!
Don’t make excuses
Don’t tell lies
Just argue with the donkey!
Don’t put up
Don’t put out
Just argue with the donkey!
You may walk away
You may even compare
But,
You’ll have to argue with the donkey!
You may come back for more
You may even bleed or plead
But
You’ll have to argue with the donkey!
No arguing with me
Take it up with management
Just argue with the donkey!

Borders
I’m crossing these borders
Bending the self-made rules
Scratching what was said, and my head
Space between you and I
It’s not an answer
Sent to us from Gods, Spirits or Witnesses.
Nothing exists to me
Reality is gone
Physicality never was
No shock to me
That my heart will never be the same
Since I fell in love with your beautiful hue

Ending Pain
Take your knife
Follow the delicate patterns
Trim me complete
Follow my scar lines
Somethings are better left not understood
Remove me from this life
Slit my throat
Reach up inside
Tie my tongue in a philosophical knot
Rip my hair out
And tear off my fingernails
Burn my flesh
Feed my bones to machines
Put my cock in a noose
Swallow my insides as I am alive
Let the people honor me at my funeral
Write notes in class
My lover’s disease is no sin
Show no mercy
Place your sword against my heart
Now thrust

Sea Garden
You are my mermaid
Flowing in and out of my life
The current takes you to my heart
The very depths of which
You have made your home
Settled inside my cave of emotions
A breeze above the sea blows
Trade winds bring you near
Then take you far
You are my pearl
My greatest discovery
A hidden treasure found
My every day paradise
My heart’s companion
The spell which has kept me
Sea creatures of the North
Golden chariots take us forth
To my kingdom of love under the sea
A place for you and me
Sea creatures of the South
Put your rose lips to my mouth
Let your eyes look beyond the sea
Open wide and tell me that I am he
Sea creatures of the East
My eyes upon you have never seen such a feast
In this blue water sea
It is time to be with thee
Sea creatures of the West
I know you wish to settle in my nest
Where you and I become one with the sea
No more shall I make plea
Ride the waves of the world
Don’t let yourself miss the wind
For the zephyr has taken you to my arms
Continue to capture it and seize it
Let the winds lead you further
To the hands I offer and heart I open
A new dawn has risen
Rays of the sun penetrate these waters
My blue eyes are not yet ice
Opportunity has knocked on the hull
Let’s make love as the sails ripen us
It’s time to throw the nautical charts to the wind
Filled with intellectual delight and exquisite beauty
You are my everything love
My garden beneath the sea

Passing
For days now I’ve been blind.
I woke up two Tuesdays ago blind.
Not knowing how this happened, I led my current life puzzled.
Put your arms out and guide me across this street.
Filled with chaotic delivery trucks and bike messengers.
Take me to the other side.
And let me be free, on my way.
Someday I’ll come across you once more.
On one knee I’ll fall.
And ask you to marry me.

Opa (Version #5)
I didn’t know who to call
I wanted to call you
But I couldn’t call you
I couldn’t call to tell you
That Opa is dead

Vomit (Version #2)
I was riding along
On the downtown number 6 train
Riding along
On the subway
From uptown to downtown
When all of a sudden
A woman
Vomited on the subway floor
People scattered
Away from their seated positions
And left the area
As if it were a crime scene
Or toxic waste dump
The people left the woman
Left the situation
The people escaped the human catastrophe
They left the subway car
To seek refuge on the platform or next car
They left the woman
To her own
I could not understand this
I could not contemplate
Where is the humanity?
I got up
Walked over to the woman
Clearly in discomfort
Distress
Embarrassment
Illness
I walked up to her
Handed her some napkins
Asked her if she was okay
Asked her if she needed help
Asked her if she needed anything
She took my napkins
And thanked me for the care
I do not understand human beings
Why run when someone is in that situation instead of help?

Waiting (Version #2)
I’m waiting,
waiting for you.
Seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years.
I’ll wait another decade, even two, even three.
I’ll wait
to dance with you
to kiss you
to hold you
to walk down the street while holding your hand.
I’ll wait
even more
I’ll wait for pigs to fly
I’ll wait for frogs to rain from the sky
I’ll wait forever
For I have waited so long
And a person like you
Only once comes along
I’ll burn the time zones
And I’ll bury the clocks.
I’ll put the sun dials in shade
And the moon on hold.
I’ll unplug the electricity
And crack the bell.
I’ll erase the digits
And destroy the tick tock.
Forever I have waited
Forever I will wait
Wait for you

Anything
This poem was about to have no title.
As I write this, I don’t know what I’ll write.
I contemplate its format. Do I use proper punctuation?
I usually don’t. But perhaps today is different.
After all, anything can happen.
Just like -
Earlier today,
I stepped in a pile of shit.
You know what they say?
Later on,
A pigeon shit on my shoulder
It doesn’t matter what I say in this poem.
Or any poem. Because there is always a bottom line.
A usual theme.
You know what it is.
He knows, she knows, you all know.
That I love her.
But, according to recent realizations by a select few,
it has been determined that I, the author of this poem,
or is it a poem?, hasn’t met her yet.
But that doesn’t matter. Because I wrote this.
Anything can happen.
And it doesn’t matter.
Because no matter what anything is happening,
I still love you.

Thirty One
If you think I cannot wait thirty one more years, you are all wrong.
I’ve waited thirty one years for this very moment.
I can certainly wait another thirty one more years.

Fourteen I Love Yous
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.

Kissing Someone
Last night,
I kissed someone.
And she wasn’t you.
And each time I kiss someone else,
You’ll be moving further away.

Love (Version #21)
Struggle.
Should it be?
Who is to know.
I am one to certainly know,
that there are no rules,
and if there were rules,
I would bend them, break them, morph them, crack them, disobey them, ruin them, destroy them, conquer them.
If there were rules about love.
But there are no rules about love.

Found Hair
As I twisted about,
Twisted around,
I came up in the morning
Woken to Charlie yelling at me
No sunlight hit my face.
I awoke
Slowly rolled and climbed
Lowered myself to the ground
And as i did
What did I see
But a single hair
Falling from my bed
A hair from you.

Mashed Potatoes
I got this email from my mother the other day. I wanted to share it with you.
Subject: mashed potatoes
Date: Oct 12, 2006 9:28 AM
great news! If you enjoy REAL mashed potatoes (not instant) go to the supermarket,
in the dairy section and find a container called Diner’s Choice.
It comes in a huge tub in a few styles and pretty healthy too.
I tried Country Style Mashed. It is to die for.
You microwave it as isand add margerine if you want.
It is real potatoes made with skim milk, not alot of fat.
it is not frozen so it is dated and it is refrigerated.
They have garlic mashed and others. Yabba dabba doo!
I would say it serves 2-3...
I found this by chance...what a nice surprise....run don’t walk.....
if you need the taste of real comfort food that is healthy too :)

September End
(I)
Month’s end is here
My eyes shed lonely tears
My heart is bleeding
Like the Antarctic Sea
Love for you has not disappeared
The symphony awaits your attendance
Passenger trains are filled
With but one love
When blue eyes of Kansas met blue eyes of York
No one told us there would be a solar eclipse
(II)
I wish not to sleep alone tonight
My sheets await your arrival
Do not stay out too late
I’ll keep the light on
Claim that you are free
And become my forever angel
You are my compass to life’s journey
A path in the commitment of two warm hearts
(III)
Take my hand
Waltz with me
Through the hall of love
Showering arrows from heaven above
I’ll put on my finest suit
You’ll wear your softest silk
We’ll dine on the breadth of the moon
Backlit among the lights of Paris
(IV)
Let my tongue greet your October thighs
Like it has never done before
It’s me down below
Licking at your morning dew
Let our cries of tender desire
Rattle the ground that all others walk upon
And let our love making sweat
Make the sun jealous
(V)
Month’s end is here
My eyes shed lonely tears
The autumn air has moved across the Hudson
Each day gets colder as they go by
I hear the screams from your heart
Your deepest part always welcomed
A sunset without you in my life
Is like volcanic ash filling my lungs at night
I leave my love with one last sentence
Live as if there were no tomorrow
