Laughter (#2)
And the last sound I hear
Is the echo of your sweet laughter
The laughter that brought so much joy
Tears, pain, and happiness
The laughter that brought me love
That is the last sound I hear
When my eyes never open again
And when I awake no longer

Long Waiting
How long must we wait for this?
How long must we wait for love?
I ask myself
How long until the next stop?
How long until the next season?
I ask myself
Yes, how long can it be?
How long will this wait be?
Empty, Lost
Its not my cup of tea
I ask, just you, just me
Let us be

Telling Me, Making Choices
Why would you tell
Why would you tell me
Why wouldn’t you go
And why did you say that?
I can see you moving over this water
Swiftly to me across the lake
I can’t look back and I can’t look forward
Nothing resolved, nothing to bake
Why would you?
Cauterize me
Deceive me
But a swindler you are.
Watching the oaks sway in the sky
Watching the blades of the windmills rotate
They all tell me
That I am one of the wise men
A fool
Hearted and not grounded
You’ve left me stuck
I have two choices
Which one should I make?

Samuel Beckett
I have never told this to anyone,
but I speak the truth
and the truth comes out from under me
out from under the rocks and wet leaves
it’s taken years of abuse and admittance
of waiting in lines and for my hair to fall out
years of using deodorant and years of eating T.V. dinners
but I figured I’d tell the truth now
because better now then never
especially since I’m going blind
and the doctors say I only have nine more months to live
and live I shall,
live I shall
I made love to Samuel Beckett.

Dropping Pants
I don’t know
but I was drinking tea
and let go of the cup
and spilled it all
over my lap
Morning sun came up
she rattled my hum
and it took Bangladesh
and over a ton of barking
to make the scent disappear
I couldn’t help but realize
how far deep I was
and inside I was
and surrounded by her walls
they were closing in
Woke up next to her
found yesterday’s lentil
and got my headache back
and ran to pick up the children
from after school

No Stopping
Earth can stop rotating
Constellations can stop appearing in the night sky
The sun can stop casting shadows
The moon can stop shining after dark
Trees can stop emanating oxygen
Leaves can stop changing colour
Oceans can stop crashing their tides
Wind can stop drifting wished upon eye lashes
Birds can stop their migration
Spiders can stop spinning their webs
Children can stop playing with their rocking horse
Grandmas can stop baking chocolate chip cookies
Pastors can stop officiating
Rabbis can stop praying
Secrets can stop being hidden
Dreams can stop occupying your sleep
Poets can stop writing
Artists can stop painting
Memories can stop being remembered
Futures can stop being predicted
My love for you,
— will never stop

Sandwich Crust
I’m sorry,
but you can’t have my sandwich crust.
I’m saving my crust for someone else.

I Forgot About You
In this transparent world
Birds take flight into the amber sky
People try to follow their lead and their head
Their wings of wax and feathers disintegrate
They plummet to their early deaths
In this transparent world
Men light themselves on fire before the women
Reduced ash, skull bashed, broken, cracked
Summer ruins pile high in rivers of blood
They all wish to get wed upon midnight’s soil
In this transparent world
You would think she would realize what she had
Instead, she made him shrivel up and turn to yesterday’s leftovers
It was his heart, now served on a platter of gold and silver
Roses strewn about the path walked by his father before him
In this transparent world
Wild animals run among lost kingdoms
Kisses await and vows taken to the grave
She was all you wanted for a decade’s time
Until discovery led you to another woman’s heart
In this transparent world
Now she has your heart, and you’ve forgotten all else
Including her.

Nothing To See Here
“Keep moving, keep moving,” said the patrol officer.
Someone asked, “What happened?”
The patrol officer repeated, “Keep moving, keep moving, there is nothing to see here.”
He added another part to the sentence he previously stated.
Each passerby attempted to glance down the street, but they saw nothing.
It wasn’t until the next day,
Newspaper headlines divulged just what happened,
Down the dark street that evening.
David Greg Harth, dead at 31.
Articles try to explain how the young emerging artist died.
The reporters did their research.
They found reasons and faults and works of art.
But there was one answer they could not find.

Snatch Hunt
I’m trying to seek you out.
I’m ready to kidnap you.
Devour your last breadth.
Steal your last pulse.
I’m on the hunt.
I’m on the hunt for new snatch.
Got some snatch I can snack on?

Morning (Version #3)
My body woke up looking for yours.
You were not next to me, nowhere to be found.
I made some coffee; I made some toast.

Nibble
I’ll nibble at your neck
and I’ll nibble at your belly
I’ll nibble on your elbow
and I’ll nibble at your knee
I’ll nibble at your lower back
and I’ll nibble on your foot
I’ll nibble on your ear
and I’ll nibble on your lips
I’ll nibble on your breasts
and I’ll nibble on your nose
I’ll nibble on your fingers
and I’ll nibble between your legs

10:28
I was running late for my flight.
My 11 a.m. out of J.F.K.
I was standing outside, near Western Beef,
on fourteenth street.
I was about to go, about to leave, about to depart
couldn’t find a cab
Until the last minute
You were wearing your long coat
I leaned in to say goodbye
You were on the phone
I kissed you goodbye
You never got off the phone

Expired
My time has come.
I’ve turned into thin dust.
Howling winds collected my remains.
My love for you has been carried away.
Silent tears break the waves of enchantment.
My heart is crushed to a pulp.
Dead beneath the sea.
Nothing can revive.
I’m expired.

Love Monster
Everyone knows it.
From Barcelona to Tokyo.
Everyone knows I’m the Love Monster
From London to New York
From New Orleans to Toronto
They all know
That I’m the Love Monster
They all know
That I sit on top of a hill of love
And women flock to me
They spread their wings
Rustle their feathers
Do their dance
And hope to grab my attention
And hope to grab my cock
And hope to grab my heart
Okay Okay Okay
It isn’t quite like that
So have a laugh
Everyone knows it
That I’m the Love Monster
And they all know
That there is only one
That has the ability to tame
This Love Monster
Everyone knows that I’m the Love Monster
From Denver to St. Petersburg
From Milwaukee to Hamburg
I am the Love Monster
And I have lots of love to give
Romantic love
Cheesy love
Lovey duvy love
Flowers, chocolates, diamonds
Drawings, poetry, mix tapes
Spontaneous trips, planned trips, surprise trips
Kisses, sensuality, sexuality
The Love Monster gives all of these to you
And I am the Love Monster
Everyone knows that I’m the Love Monster.
From Basel to Los Angeles
From Boston to Johannesburg
They all know
That I am the Love Monster
And my monster love is for you.

Me
I have been bleeding from holes in my hands and feet for days now.
I have pain, but most of the pain is in my mind.
An ache like no other.
A fear of destruction, the end of love.
I want you all to gather around me.
Listen to the few words I speak from my lips and wild tongue.
Replay the visions I had while in mother earth’s forrest.
Encompass my heart as my body moves across the sea.
It is my last day here.
I want you to learn from my lessons.
Take my dreams and hopes with you.
Betray no one but your fears.
Remember to sail in the open winds.
Harvest each other’s love.
Cherish your children, hug your lovers.
Show mercy to your enemies.
Before you leave me to wither.
Soak up my blood and show no despair.
Collect my fallen skin and shed your amounting silence.
Cradle my charred heart and sweep up my eyelashes.
As the pipers play their last hymn.
Take your journey forward never looking behind.
Salt pillars stand strong at my side.
As my wooden embrace engulfs my lasting spirit.
Walk on solid ground with open wounds.
Let your blood combine with other’s before you.
Allow your fluids to enrich the history.
And let love live as you live love.

Don’t Forget
Ocean crests break upon the beach
Rivers bend over smooth stones
Rain drizzles down on little toes
Sun sets lonely behind thunderclouds
Moon glares at the sky’s window
Stars shoot across this everlasting universe
A forest sits alone at night
Trees sway in midnight’s wind
Autumn leaves drift endlessly below
Mourning doves chirp at dawn’s light
Sparrows sing the union bells
Kites soar along harbor sails
Fire ignites the eternal flame
Double helix blends to conceive
Milk pours to the baby’s mouth
City lights shimmer upward heavenly
Plains run through metropolitan’s farm
Street stretches across to unite sapphire
Your laughter floats down my corridors of tenderness
Your voice echoes in the pockets of my heart
Your eyes illuminate my everyday existence

Rosa Parks
Oh dear dear Rosa,
Break these chains
And break free from those that bound you.
Oh dear dear Rosa,
Break free from yourself
Become the great Rosa you are
Leave Detroit behind you
Oh dear dear Rosa,
Become my angel
Free like the white dove you are
Get to the front of the bus
Kiss me so sweet
Oh dear dear Rosa,
See the reflection in the glass
Be who you are and sing out loud
Put shyness to the wind
And quit hiding beneath the table,
Get on the bus
Oh dear dear Rosa,
Break free from the chains
Put your blindness aside
Let the hurricane gust
Blow through your hair
Oh dear dear Rosa,
Discovery of choice is but yours
Detroit is dead
You are mine
And I am yours.

Another Woman, Another Man
There will be a day
When you love another man
There will be a day
When I love another woman
There will be a day
When you have sex with another man
There will be a day
When I have sex with another woman
There will be a day for kisses
There will be a day for embraces
Those will be the days
Of new
That day was yesterday.

There was a night
There was a night,
I remember,
We were across the street from your apartment building
The weather was mild with a tiny crispness
We were saying our goodbyes
A long goodbye
And you buttoned up my jacket
So sad
Yet so much care
That was a moment
That I’ll remember
Your love for me.
