Tuna Fish

“Tuna Fish”

My father makes the best tuna fish (salad).

I always know, if the tuna fish I’m eating,

is made by my father or not. His tuna fish

has a unique taste. It’s not about added pepper

or celery or extra mayo. It’s just the taste,

or maybe it’s in the knowing. It’s not just

tuna fish. It’s tuna fish that has unseen

love inside.

A Brief Funny Story

I was at my Opa’s apartment last night.

In case you didn’t know, Opa is my grandfather.

Anyway, he is 89 years old and has an older brother, about age 94? in South Africa. They both fled Germany when Hitler decided to kill people.

I was showing Opa what I do at work. I had brought my laptop computer up to him last night and for the first time he was able to see and hear what I do at work and in my art world. I showed him websites I worked on and other things. Even played a video for him.

He was quite amazed at the technology.

We then emailed his brother and some other relative.

But first, he looked at his watch. He noticed the time and he said we couldn’t because if we did that, it would wake them up. I had to take about 4 minutes and explain to Opa that emails don’t wake up people like phone calls do. I still don’t think he fully understands. But it was funny.

And that’s my brief funny story.

Poem For A Girlfriend

I’m sorry I made you cry

I never wanted to hurt you

I’m sorry we shared those moments together

I never wanted to waste your time

I’m sorry we connected and lasted so long

I never wanted to deceive you

I’m sorry I encouraged you into commitment

I never wanted to lead you wrong

I’m sorry we dedicated so much time to us

I never wanted to confuse you

I’m sorry for everything I have done

But you didn’t tell me

You had a dick.

Sea Of Grass

Long stemmed Japanese grass

Swallowed me up

And baby birds fell from the sky

In the curves of my ear

I could hear the soundtrack of my life

An orchestrated musical journey

She twisted around me

Encompassed my passion

She knew my thoughts and circled my being

The panda bear sits eating still leaves

The butterfly floats on a shared dream

The ladybug survives an ocean tide

Today is brought to me

Delivered with soft hands

And brown eyes

She sits and waits

I search and turn

We join again and again

Nothing stopping

Not even poison or ice

I sit and wait

She is the cherished speed

We join again and again

Nothing stopping

Not even red glows or gliding rubber

We are two

From an island unknown

But we survive

Grow together

We follow the examples

of the great panda bear

delicate butterfly and soft ladybug

Walk Away

After the rain wept

I could not even raise myself up

I could not stand

My entire body was shaking

My eyes looked down

Sad

Not knowing why

Questioning

The rain continued

Today it poured

Morning hours

A coolness swept over

Pushing the warmth away

Puzzled

And empty

I took to the streets

Walked alone

Questioning

My thoughts racing around

Constantly hungry

Trying to hold

The memory is past

My hands shiver with my breath

I can't believe it now

I don't want to go

You shut the door

And now I'm gone

The wet street beneath

Golden light reflects

A man at the door

Around the corner I turn

Questioning

Fog sets in

Surround my shivering body

My soul

My emptiness

My shadow you decline

Ignored

Forgot

Before the night falls to the sunrise

I go on walking

Away

With The Bible in hand

I Have A Gun

I have a gun

I’m going to shoot you

Shoot you up

Fuck you up

Shove it in

And shoot you down

I have a gun

I’ll make it memorable

I’ll make the news

And the newspaper headlines

I have a gun

I’ll be famous

I’ll be history

And the television will broadcast my portrait

Barnes Summer

If I see an apple on the street now

I’ll pick it up and drink its juices

I’ll be allowed to

It would be appropriate

There is nothing you can do

But Pray, I don’t punch you in the face

And remember those nights

When I called down the hallway

While you were paid

And now you are left in my memory bank

And there is nothing I can do

But hope and expand

But I warn you now

As I do every year

Pray I only punch you

Punch you back

And don’t kill you

Morning

The morning bird calls

My restless sleep ends

Only a few days to go

And you’ll be in my arms again

Elvis Presley & America plays

On the cold stereo

I’m wrapped up in blankets

Without you

I believe in you

That you make me warmer

And smile longer

And cherish life greater

It’s morning

I rise up out of bed

Scratching my head

Running my fingers through my hair

Making my way down

From my deep sleep

Looking in the mirror

At myself

I look deep in my blue eyes

And deep down inside

I see great beautiful

Brown eyes

You are always with me

Near or far

You are in my heart

Never forgotten

A few days will pass

And once again

Arm in arm

I’ll remember why

I’m with you

You Know You Are An Elephant

You know you are an elephant

But what am I?

But what am I?

Just a fan?

Of your marriage?

Your song?

The kitchen chair you sit upon?

You know you are an elephant

Big and grey

Wise

Scared of the little mouse

Sit on my lap,

I’ll tell you a goodnight story

You know you are an elephant

Big ears

Hearing round and round

From California bay side

To the New York harbor

To the early night in Cork

To the last night in Europe

You know you are an elephant

Listening to the closed door

Hearing those two on the other side

Listening for hints, sounds

Making mental notes

Spreading the news

You know you are an elephant

Sleeping around

An animal of sorts

A dead vegetable

Going to Yorkshire

From SOHO

Going to the art fair

From machine gun alley

You know you are an elephant

But what am I?

But what am I?

I’m a lonely clover

Sitting upon your shoulder

Looking and reading into your thoughts

Sniffing at your hair

I’ll leave you alone

If you scratch my back

Scratch my back

Geography Is Irrelevant To Sexual Ecstasy

I’m going to shoot it off

Be happy

Be a lover

Divide

Duck

Shoot

You make me want to be gay

A homosexual

A gay lover

A happy man

A happy face

You make me want to dance

Sweat

Shake the ground

Bite you

I’m going to dance

Give you a strip-tease

An art show toast

Create

Inspire

Revolt

You make me want to climb

A rockstar

A molded earth

A mountain

Higher

You make me want to smoke

Drink

Do the drugs

And feel my wet feet on concrete

You make me want to stutter

With rolling words

Of wisdom in the category of

Lions

Lust

Leave

Lonesome

Lie

Leap

Like

Learn

You make me

You turn me into an animal

Happy

So Happy

Happy Face

Bouncing around

Like a rainy-day masturbator

Happy

Now I’m cool

Cold

Feeling the cool breeze

No hot summer weather in my crotch

Tonight, I will sleep

Tonight, I will think of you

And Tomorrow

I will create art

say she’s 50 and from Nowhere.

Peeing & Peeking

She was peeing and peeking

Peeking while she was peeing

Peeing on the potty

Peeking around the corner

Pee-Pee she made

And peek she did

Peering out

About

Around the corner, she peeked

Peed she did

Not in the pool

Or on top of the stool

But in the potty

There she made pee-pee

Peeing & Peeking

Thats what she did

Looking around the corner

I see her peeking

Peeing and peeking

She peed a peeked

And  peeked a pee

She peeked when she peed

And made a pee-pee

Peeing and Peeking

No peep or poo

Just a pee and peek

For me and you

I’ve Had Enough

I’m bored with today

I’ve had enough of passion and pain

I’ve had enough of guilt and grief

I’ve had enough of accessories

I’ve had enough of popularity contests

I’m longing for the future

I’ve had enough of building

I’ve had enough of unknown diseases

I’ve had enough of examination tables

I’ve had enough of your eyes and throat

I’m longing for October

I’ve had enough of summer

I’ve had enough of waitress looks

I’ve had enough of four-lane highways

I’ve had enough of cellular communication devices

I’m longing for stroke treatment

I’ve had enough of making purchases

I’ve had enough of copyrighting material

I’ve had enough of posing for the testing

I’ve had enough of losing the battle of the self

I’m longing for the gift

I’ve had enough of incomplete songs

I’ve had enough of wishing for dreams

I’ve had enough of fast food chains

I’ve had enough of tour accommodations

I’m longing for something new

I’ve had enough of fighting

I’ve had enough of believing in all

I’ve had enough of microwave ovens

I’ve had enough of elevator shaft re-runs

I’m longing for the cry on my shoulder

I’ve had enough of people wasting their life

I’ve had enough of death defeating popstars

I’ve had enough of victims and taxes

I’ve had enough of mothers close to the art

I’m longing for survival

I’ve had enough of canned vegetables

I’ve had enough of sitar instruments in my head

I’ve had enough of white knobs of undergarments

I’ve had enough of dot memories and black bananas

I’m longing for a dozen

I’ve had enough of money stories

I’ve had enough of fire promises

I’ve had enough of dead cooking

I’ve had enough of feeling evil

I’m longing for you

Scent (Version #2)

I love it when

I can still smell your scent

On the bath towel you just used

On the pillow case you just slept on

On the shirt of mine you just borrowed

I love it when

I can smell your scent

When I’m up against your neck

Sleeping next to your shoulder

Or licking the curves of your back

I love it when

I can still smell your scent

On the sheets I wrap myself in

On the candle you just burned

On the soap you just used

I love it when

I can smell your scent

When I hold your hand

Remembering your eyes

Or kissing your lips

I love it when

I can still smell your scent

On the card you sent me

On the shoulder you cuddled upon

On the flowers you left behind

I love it when

I can smell your scent

When I’m hugging you goodbye and hello

Smiling with your heart

Or listening to your passion

Ache

Falling asleep

On my white sheets and feather pillows

My head in ache

I feel the warm trickle

First from my ears

On to my pillow

My ears bleeding

The red staining the white sheets

And tracing the curves of my ear

Then from my nose

The blood traveled down my lips

Hitting the sheets

I bled from the holes in my wrists

And the holes in my ankles

Like my soul bleeding

The red rivers flowing

Feeling like I’m no longer the significant person I used to be

Losing my soul, my thoughts

Seeing the flash before me

The images of all those brothers and sisters that I loved

The blood flowing from the holes

My wrists, my ankles, my ears, my nose

My eyes blue as the sky and ocean

My body getting cold, pale, rottenly forgotten

I’m no longer significant

I’m just a shadow caster now

On mountain tops

I’ll be reunion warmth

I’m no longer significant

I’m bleeding now

I’m nothing

I’m your love
